Frank Kinsella walks into a crowded pub with his face still bloody from a beating, shoots his brother Bren in the head in front of the room, waits to be sure of what he has done, and then turns the gun on himself as the sirens close in. The last episode of Kin so far gives its decisive act to the man the season has spent dismantling, and gives the family's plot to kill Bren to everyone but the one who finally does it. Bren (Francis Magee) dies without redemption, on a single exchange about Frank finally growing some nerve.

The hour opens immediately after the ambush at the convenience store. Anthony and Lee Reid meet Bren at a garage to cover their tracks, and while they burn their clothes Bren comes up behind Lee and strangles him, and Anthony watches and then helps dispose of the body. Birdy and Viking meet Michael and Amanda to agree how to deal with Bren, and both are suspicious of Viking until he tells them Bren has threatened Nikita. Breslin interrupts the meeting and reveals that a tracker has been found on Viking's vehicle and that Glen Wright is dead.

Bren comes home drunk and tries to force his way into Birdy's room; at breakfast neither mentions it. At Frank's house he teaches Jimmy a lesson about leadership by beating Frank until he is bloody for planning to leave the family, and takes his passport. Birdy tracks Betty Duggan to a construction site and tries to have the eyewitness's statement withdrawn, personally guaranteeing Jess Duggan's safety if she does; Betty gives no answer. Michael and Jimmy meet Birdy for burner phones and final instructions, and Frank, found at home by Dan and dismissed, reaches the pub first.

Amanda's side of the finale is settled at a hangar. Nuray's plane lands and she lets Hamza walk out first towards a waiting Range Rover; gunshots come from inside it, she orders her guards to stand down, and she walks over to confirm his death. Amanda steps out from the far side of the hangar. The two then settle a partnership: Amanda reveals that the Syrian deal with Wayne was a ruse to draw attention to his dealings, and she alludes to another pregnancy. Wayne, warned by a mole inside the Gardaí, meets the Syrians and tries to stop the shipment. The external debt is not paid; it is answered by changing who runs the Batuk side.

The finale is structured as a set of parallel removals, Bren killing Lee, Nuray killing Hamza, Frank killing Bren and then himself, and its recurring idea is that the family's violence is self-consuming. Its strength is Frank: the season spends seven hours diminishing him so that the eighth can give him the only act no one else can take, and Gillen makes the choice feel like the last one available. Its weakness is that it resolves two seasons of threads in under fifty minutes, delivering the banking link, the Duggan statement and the Syrian ruse in summary rather than in scene, and it introduces a pregnancy it never develops. The final image is Anthony at the kitchen table telling his mother he has something to tell her; the conversation is not heard, and no source states what he says. Amanda ends the season the winner, her alliance with Nuray forged in blood, and the show stops where its next generation begins. It is also the last episode transmitted before the long production gap that followed, and the last record of the run so far.
