Widows II: Episode 5

Dolly's date with Vic Morgan is a disaster in slow motion. She is trying. She is also not over Harry, and the two facts sit in the same room with her all evening. Morgan takes her to his boat, which she loathes on principle, and his coat goes overboard in a moment of pure frustration. She sends him a replacement later, which is the closest she gets to an apology, and the boat itself never gets one at all.

The party at the Fishers' club is where the robbery starts recruiting. Harry uses it to pull people into the job, and when the police turn up, Micky Tesco talks his way past them by pretending the uniforms were invited. Shirley comes face to face with Harry on the stairs, and neither of them blinks first. Dolly and Bella, meanwhile, find out Shirley is working at Amanda's Night Club and pick up the date of the robbery. But once it is clear Shirley will be modelling at the fashion show, she agrees to help the two of them double-cross Harry. The plans change hands, Harry secures what he needs, and the pieces are all on the board, waiting for someone to knock them over.

The best moment belongs to the coat. Dolly cannot tell Morgan how she feels, so she throws his jacket in the water instead, and he is too decent to make her explain. The episode understands that people in this world lie for a living and still can't manage the truth about their own hearts.
